RECEPTION DÉCOR DETAILS: The Swan were amazing and basically decorated the hotel for us, we hadn't got round to creating a short list of photos to put up so they literally covered the walls of the old airman's bar with them (where the party went on afterwards). The fruit place name holders were pieces of fuit painstakingly sprayed by my sister with white emulsion (a few people tried to eat them thinking it was icing!). We hung jam jars of flowers, pastel paper pom-poms and ribbons in the trees in the garden, scattered mini lanterns along the low garden walls, and wove ivy into the chandelier above the tables in the dining room.

WEDDING PLANNER: we didnt have one,The Swan's events manager was amazing and coordinated most stuff for us.

FOOD & DRINKS: We brought our own champagne and cakes and served them as warm-up drinks by the church straight after the service, followed by more pimms and champagne at the reception.

CAKE: four tiered, sponge cake covered with macaroons. Each layer was a different pastel colour and had lovely subtle sponge flavours from lemon to light vanilla.

HONEYMOON: safari in Tanzania, followed by Zanzibar and the island of Pemba.

WEDDING SONGS/FIRST DANCE: I'm on Fire, Brue Springsteen

SOURCES OF INSPIRATION: lots and lots of wedding magazines, and of course pintrest.

A MEMORABLE MOMENT: walking down the aisle and seeing my husband-to-be smiling and looking gorgeous, that and partying until 4am and the laptop that was streaming the music accidentally smashing. Oh, and waking up the next morning to find an article in The Times covering our wedding. That was a surprise...
