Jess and Tom’s wedding was a celebration of two halves - two days in fact. Part one included the formal vows and was an intimate occasion for the close family at ever superb Swan at Lavenham. However the second part at the stunning family home and gardens deep in the Suffolk countryside was a chance to invite their wider family and friends and have an all inclusive party.

I’m lucky enough to photograph a lot of exclusive private home weddings. We’re lucky that in Norfolk and Suffolk there are plenty of rural properties that lend themselves perfectly to holding wonderful wedding receptions. Jess’ grandmother’s husband, Mike is an avid gardener, the formal rose garden being his pride and joy. As you’ll see from some of the pictures this was a spectacular assault on the senses, a real gem to have a s a backdrop and wedding photographer ’s dream.

The tipi marquee that Jess and Tom hosted their reception in was also fantastic, the first I’ve photographed. Being somewhere in the mid-20oCs on the day meant everyone could enjoy the semi-al fresco nature of the open sides. A real treat in the UK!

As the warm afternoon became a balmy evening we were blessed with a beautiful sunset. Couldn’t have ended better!
